5 knives in Progress

I just wanted to post 5 knives in progress.
From the top
Top Knife = Oosik, Gray maple spacer, Nickel silver guards.
Next knife =Oosik, Box elder burl, Nickel silver guard.
Next = NS and Mild steel guard, Red box elder burl, Gray Maple handle
Next =Ns and Mild steel guard, Gray maple, Stabilized maple Handle
Bottom= Ns and Mild steel guard, Gray maple spacer, Cocobolo

I'll post pics when finished, I know they are ugly, and rough. Any comments appriciated.

They're not finished so they can't be ugly yet Just be very patient and they will turn out fine.

Certainly nothing ugly about any of these! Beautiful work to my eyes. Could you elaborate a little on what the benefits of "Blueing" offer?

First not many makers are bluing there blades, and I really like the look. If offers better rust protection than an unblued blade. You still have to keep oil on it. Just like any carbon steel knives. That being said, it is just something kinda unique that I really like doing.

I don't know...I think the handles would have been a bit more grippy before they were smoothed up.

Hey, not ugly at all. Question: how fine do you finish before bluing? I've done a few rough blue jobs on family beaters that were done to 600. Still working on technique there.
