So this fellow gave me a set of Pre-Ban Bark Elephant Ivory scales and said, "I want a damascus Shell-guard bowie just like the one you made for my buddy."

So I made one almost like it, and sent it to Paul Long and said, "Make a really neat sheath for this 10 3/4 inch, 4-bar modified T/T Shell Guard take-down."

So Paul said, "Send me a carved Damascus stud, and I'll use baby Alligator for the insert, and make a "Papoose" for the Ivory and Damascus Take-down tool."

So here's five Photos-----

So there,

John

well, and I was just about to turn off my computer and go home.
That is one amazing knife Mr. White.

Well, that might be my new favorite John White knife. Im not only impressed but thoroughly jealous and wish it was mine.

This one certainly caught my attention. I love everything about it.

A home run!

John that is a fantastic knife

Paul that is as usual perfection

I am glad to see more and more makers useing custom oversized studs. Imagine the package with a standard sam brown stud . It would not compare

man that is some nice work! really love the pattern as well. Amazing in every way.

Well, at my level of experience I cannot comprehend the skill it takes to create that knife! However, I do enjoy trying to think it through!

That is something to behold! Love the texture of the ivory. I got Mr. longs Sheath DVD and can appreciate his work too!

Thanks for sharing.

That's incredible, John! One of the nicest knives I've seen in a while. I really like the damascus, the profile, the materials, the sheath, everything. That pic of everything taken down shows how much work must have went into that.

Beautiful all the way around. Very nice work.

Not one of my favorites of John's damascus patterns, however this bowie is so clean inside and out.
An outstanding take-down bowie.
A fine black leather sheath always makes a white handle knife look so elegant.
I'm sure your customer will be soooo pleased.

Need to add that something really striking to me is how the guard and spacer is darker then the blade. I think it makes it look nicer.

FANTASTIC is a good word for that knife/sheath/tool combination.

Beautifully done by John and Paul!

John makes the spectacular seem quite routine. What a terrific bowie! And I think that is about the most beautiful elephant ivory I have ever seen. Well done John - and congrats to the new owner.
