I'm thinning out my collection, and letting some of the nicest stuff go this time. Making blades is taking up all my time and money, so I'm cutting these loose.

I'd like to sell these as a package if possible, so I'm offering a much better price on the group.

These are all unique pieces, and are worth more than I'm asking. The only one that's been used is the giant GRS, which is an indestructible beast. The rest are in great shape with the exception of the horn crack on the M-43i. They're all in the condition the came in from HI, the smudging in the pictures is from the oil on them. They may show minor sheath marks, and some age on the fittings, but that can easily be polished up.

All prices are shipped CONUS. I will ship international if the buyer covers the additional cost, and assumes the risk. After I ship it, it's out of my hands.

SOLD! 1. Ganga Ram Special by the old forum favorite Durba, 22.5" OAL, 54oz, old tooled scabbard showing some age, with minor splits. This one is a user, and has some scratches and such. You can split logs with this beast. Spine is 1/2" thick. $165

SOLD! 2. WWII by Bura, 20" OAL, only 27.8oz, they perfect piece by the Royal kami, super long and light. Nothing made like this anymore. $250 firm

PRICE DROP to $130 3. WWII by Kumar with finger groove chiruwa handle: 17" OAL 24.5oz, one of Kumar's special 1 offs. The angle of the finger grooves in this one, along with the lighter weight and size, make this the perfect pair to the above WWII. Perfect for wielding akimbo, since this fits the left hand perfectly. $150

SPF!4. M-43i variant by Sher the Tiger: 18" OAL, 25.8oz, I've never seen another of these, this is the classic perfectly balanced M-43 profile, with a stick tang instead of chiruwa, and a single AK style fuller on the blade, unique cho. SS fittings, unfortunately, due to climate, the horn handle developed a pretty long crack. Easy fix with superglue, but obviously doesn't leave it mint. Horn tools show some hairline cracks also. Extremely unique piece, would make a gorgeous user, much lighter than the M43's being produced today. $150 (would be asking much more if not for the crack)

PRICE DROP to $175 5. Dragon Engraved Shop 1 AK, made by unknown, 16" OAL, 23.5oz. Old shop 1 AK with fancy pommel, and deep dragon engravings on both sides. These were rare special orders, from the early days of HI. No kami mark, but distinct HI mark, which is common for these old pieces. $200

Sorry for the crappy pics, camera phone results.

I just sent you a reply with better pics Jay, but want to make sure you understand that it has a crack in the handle, but is otherwise untouched.

I nearly cried the day it arrived with the crack from climate shock.

Hey Jay,

What he is trying to say is that I was actually first on the M43. Sorry buddy ;) OK, I tried...

Email sent on Bura WWII and Ganga Ram.

Those hairline cracks in horn are an easy fix, you will find good tutorials in the HI forum. Just need CA glue (aka superglue).

No need to worry about them.

I can't speak for Jay but, my Bura and Durba blades are going to be cleaned, oiled, shined and placed on a throne! No chopping for those guys! I have been watching for a Bura blade to come up for sale for "a while" and have been wanting an old school Ganga Ram too. What a nice morning!

Wait till you see a totally rehandle!
Bill, I was just lucky that the time zone falls on this side of the morning. My Mrs.Buras (safe queens) are indeed TLC'd. This one however will be used ----AH! don't stir the user greed!

Just curious though, why the extra " i " on the M-43i?

Edit: answer found-http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/243202-First-Impressions-Kumar-Hybrid?highlight=M-43i

Old Bill said USE IT!

Obviously the M-43i is SPF. Can't wait to see the rehandle Jay.

I planned on rehandling it myself, but I'm already in the process of putting a handle on a Murali BAS, so no time.

Nice link about the M43i Jay.

I like seeing that people were as picky back then as we (you and I) are today! I feel like I am being too picky sometimes when I post (preach) about weight, size and models being true to their specs. But those guys were pointing out the same things way back in 2003.

I wish I could have spoken to Bill back then. Every post I read from him shows not only a great business sense but a deep understanding of a kukri's balance, feel and weight. Just look at the team of Kami's he put together and the incredible work they did. That is why I am so excited to finally get a Bura kukri for my colection! I wish Scotty could just beam it over!

Bill I have to thank you for it. You brought in the M-43 virus with the pilot khuk and i thought i was the only nut yapping about the weight. You aren't picky; just a hard-skull purist who insists on the real deal.:p. If the handle's wood it would have been a different story.

Mr.Martino always keep us missing him. His great sense of humor and no holds barred style caught us deep. It was once said that the IDEAL khuk comes from Bura forged, Sher /Kumar made. Very few of us spoke to him. Me neither. But he's always around with us.
That's eternal.

Who's Scotty?
