Infatuation and obsession.

I'm on the verge of cleaning out my knife drawer of all the cheap POS crap that I bought years ago, just so I can make more room for the essential knives that I have on pre-order and the knives I'll buy to tide me over until they arrive.

The problem I have is I collect (and use) knives, watches, flashlights and various other items. My wife is real understanding.

A toyota corolla will get you to work and back, a $5 walmart watch will keep time just fine, $20 boots from payless will cover your feet just fine, a loaf of bread will keep you full for the whole day.

It's true that we can all use the bare minimum and they will do the same job just fine as their more expensive counterparts, but it's just not the same.
