$50-$100 knife

154cm is fine. I had a 530, didn't like it. I've held the 531 and my opinion didn't change.

Fully serrated salt might be a good pumpkin knife.

A Skyline was my first 'high end' EDC. Eventually got it in Damascus and S30V versions but really too much of a steel newbie to discern much in the way of edge retention. The Dam sure is pretty though.

But, as soon as I got a Spyderco Delica and then Native, the Skylines went into storage.

I'd recommend ...

• Stretch ZDP - slightly larger handle than the Delica but with a 3.5" blade under $110. Just got a Stretch ZDP myself and it is making a great effort at kicking my Delica ZDP out of my pocket.

• Native 5 LW S35V
*pssst* you may still be able to get the 2015 Forum Native 5 LW S90V for under $100 using the super secret discount code.

• Mannix2 LW S110V

Thank you for the pics, very helpful. I owned a 530 and didn't like it.

I think I will go with the skyline. The question is, Damascus or cf?

I thought the CF was in S30V. Are you okay with that?

You already have plenty of knives I imagine so get yourself something different. Serrated Pacific Salt! I use mine every day and it is an absolute cutting machine with very high level edge retention. Pretty much bulletproof too. I've seen em recently as cheap as $60!! How can you not?! :D

I think I'm gonna go with one of the salt's.

Serrated Salt is an absolute beast of a cutter!!
The only thing that I don't like is the scales on mine rub the blade in a few spots.

I've filleted lots of fish with mine when I didn't have anything else handy. There is no sawing involved. These are straight push cuts. A very sharp serrated edge is an amazing tool.

Go serrated...trust me. There is a world of difference between pe and se H1 performance.

I planned on serrated. Btw, I love your fishing pics on instagram. My dad was a big walleye fisherman, not so much anymore. Sold his Ranger four years ago, he goes up to De Pere Wisconsin once or twice a year on a charter. Where I'm from originally and my extended family is Galveston, TX and so I've done quite a bit of saltwater fishing, mostly off the pier at my grandfather's camp. 12am, four 1000 watt halogen lights shining down on the water to attract the bait fish. We'll catch over 100 speckled trout in a night sometimes. I've caught redfish, blacktip, flounder, and stingrays out in the boat.

Here's some fishin pictures including a beautiful sailfish my dad caught in Zihuatanejo for your viewing pleasure

Walleye in April:

Nice!! Never been to Zihuatanejo but I recognize the name from Shawshank Redemption! ;) And yeah, I've heard those walleye are good eatin and coming from Louisiana, I KNOW the Specs are good!

Totally awesome pics guys!!
Gotta find my spear fishing pics!!

Walleye are the best eating freshwater fish in my opinion. A buddy of mine says its not fishing, its hunting when you go after walleye. They like deep water, cloudy or muddy water, and rock formations. They never stay in one place long. The problem also in my case, living near Chicago, good walleye fishing is at least 2.5 hours away. Broiled specs are amazing! Its too bad my grandfather doesn't go down to the camp anymore. We'd fish late at night and broil up the specs for dinner the next day. 8 years ago he lost his stomach to cancer (lifetime tobacco chewer) and ever since has not had much interest in doing anything like that. He went from 6' 245lbs to 5'10 145lbs in the space of a year.

Oh and Benchco, they have them for that at BladeHQ.

A blem ZT 0350 would be my suggestion; they're an awesome little knife and have s30v steel to boot!

I had one and didn't like it. Too heavy, and I don't like assisted knives.
