$50 bucks and under

try orderig from jay at warriors and wonders. fantastic man to deal with and great prices to boot

Depends on what you're doing with it, but the Becker Necker is a fine small fixed blade for less than $40 plus shipping. If you pushed your limit up to up around $70, you could pick up a Benchmade Fixed Griptilian.

a bit more information is required to answer this question properly. are you looking for a knife to do camp chores with? or are you looking for something to do wood craft and other recreational knife based activity while camping? also will you be packing other things like an axe, and a saw?

I second this! Give some info on what you want to DO and this forum will light up like a christmas tree with suggestions!:D;)

I love it!:D

 on the Gerber backpack axe & a COLDSTEEL Canadian BeltKnife or RoachBelly. These would be a great Combo

For $34 + s/t, you can march down to your local WallyWorld and get a US-made Buck 119 Special, a proper 6" fb (The sheaths are imports: nylon - PRC; leather - Mexico). You'll see Discovery channel's 'Survivorman', Les Stroud, with one on several of his escapades. A US-made Buck 110 folder, a true classic, runs $25 there, too. Both should run you <$64 total, inc s/t. Either is a great choice - both is even better.

You can also check out the Anza line - those are pretty robust and many are inexpensive.

The Grohmann knives can be had in the $50 dollar range - maybe less in kit form.

Check out the Exchange forum too - you may be able to find a bargain there.

I'll add another vote for the Gerber backpack axe (or a Fiskers hatchet) & a COLDSTEEL Canadian BeltKnife or RoachBelly (or a Mora or a Vic Farmer). These would be a great Combo. Right now in a bag behind the seat of my truck I have the smallest Gerber ax and a Mora 711.

Hey Chad, glad you like it. I agree on the M2K, lots of knife for the money!!! I also think very highly of my Vic Treker as a (1) one only outdoor knife. With both of these you are good for most everything out there.

Don't forget the used market. I was given cosmetically beat up, but very funtional, custom D'Holder that a guy bought at a gun and knife show for fifty bucks. D's knives are very expensive on the new market.

Get something from Buck

119 Special,105 Pathfinder or an Omni Hunter. The Alpha Hunter seems nice too :)
