Did anybody read these in this month's Field & Stream. I thought some of them were pretty good. Others we "old hat" and some could have used a little more detail, but they were enough to get you thinking.

If you read it, any thoughts on your state's tidbit?

Wisconsin, my state, on getting out of the water when you fall through the ice, is a real user. I know more than a few guys that have used this, or a couple of screwdrivers tied together through their coat.

What's New York's skill? Dodging crazed bike messengers while trying to sip your cappuccino, work your Blackberry, hail a cab. step over the pothole and drop some coins in a homeless person's cup all the while trying to keep up with the latest hipster fashions?

Just kidding. Seems that most folks consider NYC as the epicenter of New York and we Western New Yorkers get forgotten.

New York is a real place?

Holy Crap, I thought it was just a made up place for tv and movie purposes only, like "Springfield" on The Simpsons. ;)

It's funny how when you go to LA or NY even for the first time how familar everything looks.

I was walking down the street in the Bowery one night and saw a closed down building that looked very familiar. I finally realized I saw it in a documentary about Blondie.

I am an avid photographer but when I went to LA I didn't take any photographs, everything I thought of taking a picture of has been shot before by professional cinematographers.

I read the article but I can't remember what AZ's skill was. Not dying of heat stroke while avoiding Cadillacs driven by 90 year old blind women who can't see over the steering wheel I think.

I think an early American skill would have been how to oppress and enslave...

That is my heritage - some can jump, some can dance, some can work, I - oppress.

Rock on man.

So, anyways, does anyone have a list of what the different skills were? I haven't seen that mag/issue..

What is Idaho' skill?

Learning how to appreciate foreigners from California?

I worked at Sportsman's Warehouse for a time....

And while I was there, I had a lady walk up and ask me if we had bike parts....

The irony of this not being lost on me, a lady asking for bicycle parts in a hunting store.... I asked here where she was from....

To which she replied, California.

To which I queried, "Did you have any problems with your Passport at the border, I thought we cut off immigration from California...?"

She was amused, but only so....

I think I should sell T-Shirts....

"Keep Idaho Beautiful, Spay and Neuter your Californians"

Well, no sense trying to educate her, let her spin her wheels back home! Just like that type ruined Cali' they're aiming to ruin 'Ho, say it ain't true?!!

I LIKE it! :D

An alternate piece of Maine wisdom is "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute."

I dunno, I was at a Light Rail stop yesterday and some crackhead kept pestering me to buy an all day pass from him for a $1.00 less than the machine offered and I kept telling him...no and had my left hand in my pants pocket on a can of gas getting ready to fog his ass. I guess that is one of the wild sports of Maryland.
