$50 knife..whats your favorite??/

I think a folder that doesn't get nearly enough attention is the EKA Swede-88:

I've owned three over the years and the fit and finish, and walk and talk, on each has been superb. The highest compliment I can pay is that I would pay 2x or 3x as much for one if I had to.

My favorite aspect is the blade grind - a traditional Scandanivian "V" grind with a secondary bevel, which can be ground away to create a true folding puukko profile.

Hi all. I remembered seeing this thread and I just picked up a Benchmade Fecas Snipe. This is a $40 knife, single blade and there are ten merchants selling them on EBay, so they are easy to find. This is a fairly large folder with an innovative and user-friendly one-handed locking mechanism. The quality is amazing for a knife of this price. I would not have been surprised if it was considerably more expensive. The thing is sharp, well ground, AUS-8 and with a nice looking coating on the blade. 'bumpy' ZYTEL handle makes for a good positive grip. This one may become my EDC for a while. Despite having a 4" blade, this knife rides comfortably in the pocket and has a very low profile.

My favorite $50+ knife right now would be the Fallkniven U2 - solid midlock design with some of the finest blade steel available (3 layer laminated blade with powdersteel core and soft but tough outer layers). Takes a heck of an edge and keeps it very well indeed.

Clean, light, tough, very pocketable design. If you look around on the web you can find it for about $52 or so. Not "shiny", but one of the best values I've found.

I bought a Bulldog stag Seductress from GP knives for around 50 and some change. Very nice wharncliffe blade and some nice (although not well matched) stag.

I own 6 Moore Makers and I wouldn't part with any of them. But reading this thread, I just found the Queen D2s. I can't stop salivating.

For EDC. Spyderco Native, S30V blade....39.00 a Wally world
Buck 119, great fixed blade.
Can't really go wrong with a 110.....
I think you can get a Vanguard for around 50 bucks also......

Magnum Kalashnikov AK-74 folding knife.

Any version of Ka-bar with Kraton G handle.

Any version of swiss army knife.

Spyderco kitchen cutlery.

Favorites? Hard to say. They're all first rate, dependable, and razor sharp. Why spend more?

I don't believe in being scared to use my knife. I would probably be, if it cost $200. Besides it pays to have backups out here in the woods.
