Folks,

Up for grabs is a freshly rebuilt New Style 50# Little Giant Power Hammer. Serial number 6463.

Here's a list of things that we've done and improved, plus replaced.

New sow block and key
New combo dies plus keys (half flat and half drawing)
New ram and guides
New pins throughout (ram, arms and crosshead)
All pin holes where reworked and drilled to factory specs. (Arms and crosshead)
New bushing in the new toggle links plus a new bushing in the pitman
A new spring (a must for any rebuild)
A new flywheel and crankshaft (converting it from center clutch to outboard)
A new 2hp motor
New main bearings and this model had a bronze bushing in the clutch pulley
New clutch fork pin and treadle pin
All bolts and nuts were replaced, plus grease zerts added where needed in wear points
New treadle rod
New paint (Machine Grey)
New wood clutch blocks
Plus several other minor things to make this a hard hitting everyday hammer.

I've worked closely with "Sid" Suedmeier over the last 9 years with Little Giant hammers, knives and hammer rebuilding. I would not offer this hammer up forsale if it was not up to Sid's standards.

We are currently asking 6000usd. Please feel free to call 402-793-5755 with any questions or if your looking for a Little Giant hammer.

Karda,

Hopefully this fixed the problem if not let me know. Thank you.

I am located in Ne.

Home of Little Giant Power Hammers. I know of several folks in Wy. That could deliver.

VERY nice. I've been looking for a 50 for a while, and I can't imagine a cleaner one. Out of curiosity, is there an advantage to swapping the clutch to outboard, aside from ease of belt change? Also, since it seems that you are a re-builder, would it be possible to swap those split dies for full-width fullering dies? Lastly, what city are you closest to? (I'm in VA but have family in NE- might try to work a combined trip.)

Thanks!

Switching dies would not be an issue.

Your right the only advantage to having an outboard clutch is changing belts but it also makes adjusting them easier as the blocks wear.

A little history, center clutch models were made to run on a line shaft and rear clutch were originally set up for electric motors. Like you said it make for ease of belt replacements, but I've never seen a hammer that wore out modern v-belts.

I'm an hour south of Lincoln and 20 minutes from Beatrice. Hence the Diller after my name I'm trying to get it on the map.

We were a one horse town but the horse passed.
