Checkout this baby. This suck is built like a tank it is a old Singer that was used in a sail making business. May have to put a smaller drive pull on it. The dude said it will do over 3/8" thick leather. It has a oil tank and a pump for lubrication.

Nice score! I have made many things on an industrial sewing machine.

YOU CAN sew through your finger very easily with these. Most industrial machines will stitch right through the bone without slowing down. Very painful indeed.

I have found that I prefer to hand stitch sheath leather. I was never very happy with the machine stitched look on handmade sheaths. A good handmade knife deserves equal attention to the sheath. It is also easy to screw up, so I almost always turn it by hand and never use the foot pedal when stitching thick leather.

You also might want to invest in the right type of feet for sewing leather without marking it up.

You're a lucky bugger!

Do you know where I can get the extra feet??????

IG, What you have Appears to be a hybrid. The motor and pedal is from a Consew industrial unit. The sewing machine is , as your photo shows, a 241-11 sail makers machine. They are really good at canvas, and will work on light to medium leather. A stock 241-11 sells for about 10 to 20 times your cost. The motor and clutch is about $300-500.
Good find
I have a Consew high post with the identical motor. I used to own a sail makers machine. Since I got a Tippman Boss, I sold the sail machine and haven't used the Consew.

I mainly got it to do the inlays, belt loops and etc. I would still do the balance with a hand stitcher. For $50 I figured I couldn't go wrong.
