So I have a extra $50 to spend and looking for a new blade. I have no idea what I want so I'm looking for suggestions. It can be fixed blade or a folder. No Opinels or Moras.

Heres what I already have.
Sog Seal Pup
Sog Field Pup
Buck 119
Kershaw Leek

A mountain of Opinels and Moras. :D

Seriously, how 'bout something completely different to expand your experience? You can buy a nice traditional Case knife for $50.

More interested in black plastic? Check out the FeatherLite from AG Russell and the Benchmade Mini-Griptilian. You'll need to cough up $6 more for the Mini-Griptilian; the FeatherLite cost $35/$50 depending on the steel.

Given any thought to a Swiss Army Knife? $50 gets you a really nice one with plenty of toys... er, I mean tools. ;)

The Bass Pro, AG and Cabelas versions of the Buck 110 is pretty close to your budget.
I think the BP has CPM-154 steel, the other is S30v.

I've been looking and so far the Benchmade Vex and Spyderco Endura 4 have both caught my attention. Anyone have thoughts on the to ? Still open to suggestions.

Spyderco Endura 4, Centofante 3 and Tenacious are all within your price range.

i agree, get a nice slippie from queen or case or boker...anyone really. my vote goes to queen for the d2.

Spyderco Native or Centofante III are excellent and in your price range. The mini Grips are also excellent, but like everyone else said $56 + shipping. You could try out the Leatherman Skeletool. My first good knife was a Boker Canoe, and I miss it. NE sweet canoe would be awesome... or a Sodbuster is SWEET, and you could buy TWO and give your best bud or gal an excellent gift as well! ..When I bought my Skeletool CX, I got 2 to give my buddy a "Best Friend EVER award." ...made me feel good!

I've been BLOWN AWAY by the Spyderco Native. Don't know if you saw it, but I made a little discussion/review on youtube here:

Take a look at the Kershaw Cyclone or Mini Cyclone you could almost buy two for your budget if you look around. Speed Safe with a on/off switch. Hard to go wrong with this one.

something I recommended recently in another thread: the incredible bargain that is the Browning Icestorm. It's made by mcusta and very close to their three times more expensive stingray series. Smooth operation, perfect finish and good VG10 steel. What more could you wish for a credit crunch-friendly $26.99 at CDNN ???

Or also within your budget, a Scandinavian beauty: the fantastic EKA Masur. Good Sandvik 12C27 steel, strong, excellent ergonomics, very light compressed birch handle, and in my opinion very beautiful and original looks. One of the knife community's undiscovered gems. IT's one of my favourites:

Why don't you save your money up and buy a good knife. My buddy was telling me how his uncle had alot of knives. I showed him some of my collection. He said, "my uncle has a bunch of shit, all junk, these are real nice knives". He said he would rather have just a couple of my knives versus all the cheap knives his uncle had. It's just not worth it, you get what you pay for. A frigging broken bottle will cut, if you want to get technical. So will sharp slate. Get a nice knife you can be proud of. Sharpen it, oil it. use it. That's what it's all about. Nobody likes a cheapskate. Once you get that kind of reputation, it's hard to shake it.

I have an EKA folding knife. That model is a beauty. I will look into that one. Good recommendaation. My knife has bubinga wood handle, and is larger.

If I had $50 bucks I would look at 1 of three knives right now.
1. Kershaw Junkyard Dog II. It is just a little over your budget but not by much.

2. Gerber Prodigy. I have an LMF II and I would like to have a Prodigy to have since I really like the LMF and figure a prodigy would be a very similar knife but different.

3. A Gerber Steadfast. I never got an original LMF and this is it's clone. It has a hard rubber handle instead of the Hypalon and I'd like to try it out.

Another option you might consider is watching the exchange and you might pick up a really nice knife under your budget.
