500 Duke discontinued for good?

We were able to get some production model 500 Dukes built and back on the website if anyone was interested.

Heck yes I'm interested

The knife is not here yet. It's been like 6 minutes since I ordered. 😁🤪

So the website has the bolsters listed as nickel silver and the description says stainless. Are they nickel silver like the rest of the series production knives?
Buck Knives Inc, please see Ricks quote...is it with stainless steel bolsters or nickel silver? website says both? thanks....

All the 500 series knives were stainless until the mid '90's. The 501, 503, and 505 switched to nickel silver. Only the 500 continued to the present day with stainless bolsters.

I recently made my own bare head with a 500 that I bought in 1988. That stainless steel took a lot of grinding.

I've been watching eBay for one of these for quite a while now and just haven't connected with one. For the retail price, you can't get a good looking 500 with a sheath unless you hit it lucky. If you belong to the collectors club it's even a bit better than retail.
What's the collector club discount?

Thanks for resurrecting my old thread! Great news about the 500! I do have a question, though. I’ve had a little trouble ordering knives from the 500 series directly from the website in the past, especially in terms of the lock bar not being flush while both opened and closed. Also, I’ve had at least one with the blade rubbing. In the past, Mr. Hubbard was kind enough to help me either by hand-picking or checking the knife before it was shipped. Since his retirement, I didn’t know if that’s still a possibility. I called customer service the other day and they stated they didn’t know if anyone would do that or not. I’d appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

I can certainly go pick one out for you if you would like. Please let me know your order number when you place it and I can go take a look.
