500 lbs of bacon sounds like the best meal ever. Of course, I probably have 10 lbs of smoked and cured bacon in my fridge, so that should be enough to last me for at least a few days. Where's the smiley for a clogged artery? :)

^^^^
yeah, I'm wondering how you got them from the bush into captivity too. Looks much trickier than just shooting them.

I bet those will fatten up nice!

it wasnt no easy task the 2 sows an small boar was caught by my hunting buddy lucky the big boar had to be snared, the farmer had some rules no killing at his farm,no weapons but a knife jus in case,an only one dog,so me lucky the super dog an my koyote boar hunter took the challenge, almost got chomped 2x,but dam it was FUN

A big live-trap a a bunch of corn is all it takes in S. Texas. My guess is that it is not much different anywhere else, even Hawaii.

Being that Lycosa hasn't shown up yet, I feel obliated to iterate...

You should take up bird watching instead of feeding your male ego with killing defenseless animals.:foot:

well i eat birds too, there not as sweet as some people think,an these will feed me an my ohana for a while, its funny because the farmer that called me is a vegetarian an the pigs was eating his crops an damaging his land, aloha

Damn, you can get your feast on now! This thread is making me really hungry for Kalua pig and poi. Well done, the pigs are introduced and have soiled much of Hawaii. Better on the plate than in the bush.

In case anyone missed it, I was being a bit facetious at Lycosa's expense. Pigs are at best a nusiance everywhere that they have been introduced. Even considering the added hunting opportunity, they are an environmental disaster everywhere feral pigs roam free. But, they are tasty.

Kalama my friend, nice pigs, an awesome dog, and a friggin’ fine Koyote blade.

This is great! I would like some more pics of the pork, before, during, and after the slaughter. This is a must. Post some pics too fo the different cuts - how you butcher them.

This is going to be good.

I told some of my co-workers (that truely believe that meat comes from the store) that I was going to do a photo essay entitled "Daddy, where does steak come from?" during the next hunting season. They think I am joking. I think it will make a great group meeting discussion topic.

Right on Kalama  I might be down Waianae side (Ma'ili) early part of next week; if you're around maybe i can drop by to check out all your boar knives...let me know.

I'll send you a PM if i do head out that way.
