I bet when the farmer said you can only bring a knife, he wasn't expecting you to show up with that beast of a blade:thumbup:

Damn Joe, all you got was a speeding ticket:eek:

:D

Pigs are at best a nusiance everywhere that they have been introduced. Even considering the added hunting opportunity, they are an environmental disaster everywhere feral pigs roam free. But, they are tasty.

I agree: especially in Hawaii they need to be killed - they are causing multiple extinctions.

Will do Kalama. I might have to go back to the mainland earlier than expected, so I'll let you know in any case.

Great pics congrats on the hut too

Couple of questions:

What kind of dog is that?

Do you fatten them up for a while or just slaughter them?

Do you slaughter them all at the same time or keep them around and kill em as need be?

How is the weather in Hawaii? It is about to suck in Boston.

Love that dog!

Thanks

Those things do NOT look like they'd make very good pets. Better butcher em' up right away! And then send me one post processing.:D. Best be careful. A bite would really suck. Congrats on your successful hunt. -DT

Nice ... how'd you catch em ???

If you have the time, it's simply a matter of feeding them into a pen.

You start feeding them. Once they know the food is there you add one side of a pen and keep feeding. When you get three sides up then you add the fourth with an open gate. Once they get used to that you just close the gate. They will panic for a little but as long as the food is still there they will get over it and now they are stock.

man i wish these were that easy,i have done that before led them right into a horse trailer but it depends on how tame they are, these bad boys gave my dog a me one mean work out an a few puncher wounds to the neck..the big boar we chased for 2 days in the valley an back out then i jus snared his a$$

well, was it FUN, or WORK or both? :D

I think you should do a step by step PHOTO tutorial on butchering wild boar. With a knife. :)

and BBQ pics!

I've never lived anywhere even close to pigs, so Hollywood is directing this question:

Aren't hogs nasty SOB's? If so, how do they handle captivity?

you read my mind i am going to butcher a hog with a knife step by step going to test a new knife an post it,,,,,,in the wild hogs can be nasty,i have seen a hog kill 2 90 lb pitbulls,i myself lost many a dog to the hog,one hunt a freind went in to knife a pig it broke loose an gave him 15 stitches to his inner thigh jus missing the main vein.i have been attacked couple of times after a shot during bow season i can tell you many stories thats what makes this animal awsome prey to hunt you never know what will happen..they are beyond tough, these that i caught are still wild so when i feed then they will charge the fence an try take a bite at me but they tame-up prety fast.the sows come to the fence to eat out of your hand,,,but im worried one sow is pregnant that will cause some problems

Kalama, bro, nice pics, and a great hunt!!

Cant wait till my Koyote pig slayer is done.:D

Cute pits too.

Man I look forward to the butchering pics, and blade review!

You will have to take me on a hunt if I ever make it out your way.
