"Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft."

and

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."

Guys, these were fantastic Rules of Life! Thanks to all for participating. I think I could definitely use many of these rules myself to live a better life. Some of your rules made me laugh out loud, and some of them made me pause for deep thought. But one of these rules made me both laugh out loud and pause for deep thought:

"Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid."

Life is indeed tough for everyone, I think, especially in these fearful times where the future is so uncertain for so many of us. I think it's definitely true that--even though life is tough for everybody--those who simply can't adapt, can't think deeply enough to see the reality beyond the crap they are fed by TV and popular culture, and do not value education and reason (i.e., the "stupid"), are the ones who will always get the short end of the stick. Plus, it's just a damn funny statement... Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid. LOL!

You're the winner, bladebertt, PM sent. I'll send this knife out to you pronto. :D
