here is a regular sized chopper/pack knife!! This is the same size as the one I carry on my hunting pack. Its large enough to do some real work to get you out of a bind, yet not so large and heavy as to be left back at the truck.

OAL- 16"

blade- 11" long, .160" thick, 2 1/8" wide

steel- Aldo's 5160, Forged, with in-house differential heat treatment which includes double normalize, double anneal, double edge quench, and triple draw, for a great performing blade, that holds a great edge, and yet is easy to sharpen!

grind- a flat grind, sharpened on a smiths diamond hone with micro bevels, to an agressive razor edge

finish-with a 600 grit handsanded finish, with hamon, for a nice easy to maintain working finish

handle- curly bubinga with steel pins and stainless thong tube

guard- no guard on this one, but the handle is contoured to steer your hand away from the cutting edge

sheath- 11oz leather, hand stitched, clean, hot-waxed, loop is sized for a 2" belt. personally I keep a blade like this one strapped to my pack instead of on my belt

I did not test the blade for rope cutting, I did cut a 2x4 in half twice, and the edge would still shave. it also passed an edge flex test, and a nail test {where you clamp the blade edge up in a vise and place a common nail across the edge and hammer the nail until it is cut halfway through} and put about half my wieght {210 lbs}to flex the blade sideways in a vise to check for toughness.

$280 plus $20 for shiping/insurance to CONUS. I can accept paypal Joe357m@bresnan.net or money order.

1st to post "I'll take it" gets it!!!

Sounds like a stocky-looking lightsaber! How was the bite on that sucker on the 2x4 test? With that lean thickness it must have been pretty nice.

Sorry if I'm plaguing you with questions, but I've got a couple of +30oz choppers with tree stumps for handles and I'm looking for something leaner/lighter to fit my girly hands

No worries on the questions!

Yes this one is thinner and lighter. She bit very deeply in the 2x4 test! The handle feels a bit slim in my hand (xl glove) yet still comfy.

just got back to houston and have been messing around with this chopper for the last hour. Incredible blade man. I have a feeling you are going to be making a LOT of these in the future. when i get out to the woods next week I intend to hammer it to hell and take some video for you.
