I finally got out and was able to play with my hammers and anvil again a bit, and this is what I ended up with:thumbup: 1/4" 5160, convex ground with a machine finish to a medium-thin edge, all exposed steel is cold blued, it's definitely a stout knife built to work! She's just over 11 1/2" overall, 6 1/2" of that is blade.
The handle is leather scales (I first saw the idea on one of Magnussen's (Rick Marchand-you can see some of his work on his site, www.wildertools.com ) knives, and got permission to work with that idea-Thanks Rick:thumbup
held down with contact cement, with two brass studs(for handle contours) and a thong hole epoxied in, then the first 3/4 of the handle is wrapped in jute twine and lightly covered with epoxy, so it's solid but cushiony
The slightly modified coffin shape lock your hand it place well, and between the leather and the wrap the handle is really comfortable, and suitable for many different grips:thumbup:

I'll let this one go for $120 with a basic leather sheath, your choice of right or left hand, or $100 even without a sheath if you'd like to make one up yourself:thumbup: Price includes shipping in the US, and any Paypal fees, also. I'll take a USPS MO, also.
Thanks,
Walter
