So you like Buck Knives ya say,

The 105 is your favorite ya say,

Ya think it’s kind a special ya say,

You love your Pathfinder ya say,

But there’s these new kids ya say,

5160, ya say,

All pretty in black and gold ya say,

Ya think you want one ya say,

Well, I don’t believe it for a minute.

How could someone ever get themselves so attached to a Five & Dime Store knife. These knives are for Newbs and Duffers.

No real “Woodsman” would every carry such a substandard tool.

Besides, everybody knows Buck only makes knives out of 420HC Stainless Steel.

5160 steel, Black and Gold ya say,

Ha! I says, you’re dreamin’ Duffer.

Never gonna happen!

Or maybe, ya just inhaled too much smoke!

Where do I find a Buck 118 made like the 119 above? Send me a message if you know, thanks! OH

Thank you Lost Viking! Will get one on order today! OH

Ps That turned into an ordeal - apparently if you use the Google Chrome browser the C&C ordering software will not take a Paypal payment. I finally ordered it off the Big River website - but it's done.

I just got a 119 in 5160, with brass bolsters:

I prefer the extra weight of the brass over the lighter aluminum; it just feels better in my hand.

Great knife!

My Buck 118 Personal from Copper & Clad came today - this knife weighs 6 oz. vs. 4 oz. for the standard version - feels great in the hand. OH

OH, that's a beauty for sure. Even if I did have to flip my IPad over to look at it.

I really like the look of the Black and Brass onnthe smaller knives.

I wonder why the 5160 knives are so much sharper from the factory than the 420hc. My 119 I got last week and the 110 were extremely sharp. Much sharper than my 425M 420hc cocobolo and even the new old stock 440c 119.

Great Picture Old Hunter. I don't have a Buck 118 Personal. This one may in my future now, thanks to you.

I do have the 119 and it is impressive. The extra weight does make it feel very sturdy in the hand. And like winchester73 said, it's very sharp indeed.

Is yours numbered? I am looking at the vendor's ad. and it says 100 production run individually numbered. Where is the number and how is it placed on the knife? I've seen it written that spring steel (5160 steel) takes a finer/sharper edge than many non-carbon steels (I speculate that the relative simplicity of the composition of 5160 enables, to a degree, a sharper edge while the relative complexity of stainless steels in general, disables to a degree, a sharper edge).

Oregon, my knife is engraved 004 on the opposite side of the blade. I'll get a photo up this evening. OH
Ps Buck Shack, go ahead and get one you won't be sorry. The Buck 118 Personal has been my favorite deer hunting knife (skinning and butchering) for several years - this one, with the extra couple of ounces, may end up being my favorite of the favorites.

Here you go:

It's surprising that these knives are stamped custom but are not much if any in price than the regular 420HC knives.

Thank you kindly OH. Outstanding of you. I look forward to seeing the engraving. I wonder if there will be more production runs without engravings on the blade?

Oregon,

My understanding is that the first one-hundred are serialized. Those that follow have no serial number. I bought one of the 102s and it has no number.
