I have available a 12" blade camp bowie/chopper. Machine finish, 3/16" spine at the ricasso, full tang with old growth black oak scales (salvaged by divers from Lake Superior). This wood is bullet proof and very much the 'bog oak of North America'. I have several boards of this and can offer sets of 1" thick scales for $18/pair and would include a certificate from Timeless Timber (the salvage company). Please PM for details. Anyway.. back to knife
The 'Crooked Lake Cutter' *SOLD*. International buyers please inquire for quote.
Viking Bearded War Axe - forged from 1" square 5160. Hand carved haft from hop hornbeam or locally 'ironwood'.. amazingly tough and light axe haft material. 4.5″ cutting edge, 17″ haft. Weight = 1 pound 8 oz total weight. Feels wonderful and fast in the hand. Fast enough to feel right for a period correct war axe.. but with enough heft and strength to work for wood work. The ironwood (hop hornbeam) haft was carved from a tree trunk and is the traditional material for axes and hatchets in my region.
