Hey all,
I have some hot rolled 5160 flat bar in a size I don't need, so if any of you want it, it's for sale.
The dimensions are .250" thick, 1.250" wide, and 40" long. I have a little over 3 and a half bars.
I'm asking $8 a bar plus shipping, which I'll figure out when I have your zip code. I'd appreciate it if one person would buy all of it, because I only have enough cardboard tubing for one package. :)

Got the steel Phillip..thanks. Have you tried to get a hamon with this steel? I was wondering about clay coating it...Mike

Whoops. This has been here awhile. I guess I need to check my threads once in a while. :D
I made one knife out of 5160 that had a very plain hamon. I would actually call it a transition zone or hardening line. 5160 is too deep hardening to get the kind of activity you see with stuff like the 10xx steels. But don't let that stop you from trying! If you come up with something cool, post it!
