How about using A2? It's readily available in the 0.25"x8"x(24"-48") size you are looking for...

I have been looking for these steels in larger sizes as well and have been trying to find you something since the thread start, it is tough finding tough steel in this size.

Thanks for the help. I did find 2 places that are somewhat cheaper then Online Metals.

Aldo's 5160 is about $3 per pound so now I have to decide if the price is worth it.
