Alright guys, I've been pretty sick for a while and I need to make some quick cash to pay for medical bills and the like, I've had one of the guys who I've been teaching who's volunteered to help out by boxing stuff up and shipping it for me, so here's the deal:

I've got 52100 round bars, 3/4" diameter (actually .760") and average 12" long. (I won't ship anything less than 10.5", most is 12"-14") I normally sell the bars at the price of $4 each. I would like to keep things simple, and give you guys a good deal on the steel, so here's what I'm gonna do, I'll sell the steel on boxes of 20 bars, and the price will be $60 a box, shipped and insured anywhere in the US.

The boxes usually weigh about 30-32 pounds, so you're getting Good 52100 for less than $2 a pound, shipped!

Please email me if you need 52100. please put 52100 in the subject heading so it will go into the right folder.

I'm not in good enough health to do the packing and shipping myself, so I think that probably just selling it a box at a time is the easiest thing, I don't want to complicate Gavin's life any more than nescessary when he's trying to help me out.

If you need a half box quantity, I think I can do that too, but the price would be $35 shipped.

Thanks guys.
Tony

Tony - whatever it is that ails you, I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Guys, I bought some of Tony's 52100 a while back and was very pleased with what I got. If I didn't already have a pretty good pile of steel, I'd buy one of these boxes in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the comments guys, I haven't had any complaints yet from the few thousand pounds I've sold over the last year or so.

I'll also say, that if anybody gets a piece they aren't happy with, they can send the steel back and I'll give 'em more to replace it.

I've never found any inclusions or flaws in the steel, it came straight from a bearing manufacturing plant, and is not "reject" steel, the carbon content of every piece I've had tested was spot on at 1.00%-1.02% without anything higher or lower.

As most of you know, 52100 isn't a beginers steel, but is very rewarding if forged and heat treated properly.

In an email I got today from someone who's bought a bit of the steel from me, this is regarding a knife he'd sent me a picture of that he'd made for testing the 52100:

I already put that one thru the paces. A stretch of perhaps 40 days I
whacked at an oak 4x4 anywhere from 2 dozen to 200 strokes . It still
would scrape hair off my arm. Several strokes on the strop and back she
was to scary sharp.
I musta really nailed the HT on that one.

The above is un-edited.

Hope you guys have a great evening.

Guys, Gavin came over today, but didn't get off untill after 4:00 so we didn't make it to the post office, but we did get stuff boxed up and ready to ship. Everyone that has paid for the steel, it will go out monday (Gavin has to work tomorrow, and I just can't handle all that lifting right now) but we got everything boxed, and labeled for folks who've spoken up for it.

I still have about 10 boxes that aren't spoken for yet, so you can still get some of this at an awesome price.

I also have 3 boxes of short pieces, they all weigh around 40 pounds, and the pieces run 4"-10" long, I'll sell these boxes at the same price of $60 shipped, but like I say, only 3 boxes, so first come first served. Update: these are gone, thanks Craig

Thank you guys so much for helping me out by buying this stuff, it means a lot to me and my Wife both.

I also appreciate all the nice comments people have been sending, it's nice to know that people care.

Thanks again,
Tony

Got your address and will send a money order out to you for 1 box...

Get better soon, so you can rejoin the race with the rest of us out here....

Most of the steel shipped either yeaterday or today, but a few boxes had a "misshapp" in the post office parking lot, Gavin set them down to get a cart, and a redneck ran them over! should have seen the look on his face when there was a bar of 52100 sticking out of his super swamper tire :) and those need to be reboxed to go out tomorrow.

I do still have a few boxes of steel that are unclaimed, email me at tony@ysforge.com with the sebject 52100 to get some before it's all gone.

Guys, do have some left, My internet has been down since I left town on Friday, I'm on a borrowed computer now, so I'll try to respond to Emails this afternoon.

Tony

Steel arrived yesterday... thanks Tony.

The cardboard box had busted open and somewhere along the way a kind postal employee placed it in a larger box, wrapped it up, put a new address label on it and attached a note of apology.

So, for future reference, 20 bars might be a little too much for one of these flat rate boxes.

Anyway, I have my steel and all is well on this end. Thanks again.

Glad you got it, it's odd, I've had more problems with boxes breaking in this batch of stuff than I have before.... guess I need to get stuff wrapped up tighter...

Tony

cut up one of the boxes and "double box" it. that's what Dan Gray did (IIRC) with the 5160 bars...

hang in there Tony!

Mine finally arrived today in a PO Mail carrier box with a little surprise in it, it also included another busted up box that should have been delivered to Hawaii so I put it back together as best I could and the postman should pick it up tomorrow :D :D

So Kalimalena your box is going to be a little late since it stopped off here in California. :D
