I have been fooling around with making my own Micarta type handle material lately, this one from a pair of my most comfortable, torn and faded jeans bonded with fiberglass resin. My wife is glad to see the old jeans go away; I feel that I am making such sacrifices for this hobby.

Stock removal from 1/8 inch 52100
Heat treated with three normalizing and two tempering cycles to Rc 59 (This process gives the blade a very fine grain and excellent edge holding)
Flat grind
Hand made laminated handle material
Overall length: 8 1/4 inches
Blade: 3 7/8 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop

SOLD delivered to the US or Canada. My PayPal account and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com Please feel free to contact me for other payment methods or overseas shipping costs.

GL,

Curious if you took any inspiration from the Nessmuk design? The tool your offering looks to be one of those essential, pass it down kind of knives....timeless. I will admit being sorely tempted (I say as I look around at the couple of dozen already on the wall behind the bench). If you can get me as interested as I am then sir, you have done good things. Oh, and nice Boo in that pic behind you

Absolutely awesome Gerry. Please tell me we can see food and beer stains in those handle scales - it all adds to the mystique ;) A seriously nice knife mate. Whoever buys it will be very happy indeed :)

Yes, very much inspired by a nessmuk. (and , the caribou would make the record books if I wasn't so cheat that I refused to pay the entry fee)
