Bill, I guess because I am just trying to break into the kitchen knife market at this point and want to get these knives in the hands of some people who can use them. the specs are .087 thick infront of the bolster with distal taper the whole length. Height at the heel is 1.73". I will allow a 5 day inspection if you don't like the knife send it back............
