Another one out of my favorite steel 52100! My personal outdoors knife is made from this steel and has done nothing but amaze me with its cutting performance!

OAL- 10 1/4"
blade- 5 15/16" long, .212" thick, 15/16" wide at the guard
steel- Aldo's high carbon 52100, Forged, with in-house diff heat treatment. the heat treat on this takes me a week and a half to bring out all I can from the steel
grind- a full convex grind, with distal taper
finish- etched 800 grit finish, with hamon so you can see the heat treat
handle- Green birdseye maple with tru-oil finish
guard- 1/4" brass, with 1/4" brass butt-cap, tang is through butt-cap and peened over
sheath- 11oz leather, hand stitched, hand-tooled, hot-waxed, with keeper strap. I recessed the inside of the leather for the snap so it wont scratch the blade
blade fully tested for edge retention and tip strenth before finishing

$175 shipped to CONUS. I can accept paypal Joe357m@bresnan.net or money order.

1st to post "I'll take it" gets it!!! SOLD!!!

That is just awesome. Matter of fact the last 3 you have put up have been stellar. Loving my Turkey hunter. keepem sharp

Thanks Guys!!!

Lonbow, that tiger maple you sent is amazing! When you see one of my blades you like, you have a healthy credit towards it!

Eliot, thanks! I really like those fixed blade pocket knives of yours also!

Nice Joe, I really like your knives. I just made my first knife from 52100 and like what it does.

Really nice blade!

You mention full convex grind, but does it have a secondary edge bevel or a zero convex edge? Looks like a small secondary grind in one of the pics.

Thanks.

Thanks guys!!

Redsnake-- The grind is a full convex, but sharpened on a flat stone, from the tip back a little over an inch I ground it a little bit thicker and so upon sharpening it does get a bit of a secondary grind. I do that because tips really get alot of stress and my first blades I made for my elk hunting buddies about 10 years ago came back with broken tips from cutting {more likely prying} out the ivories, since I went to this style of tip I havent had one come back broken yet.

Thanks for the clarification and explanation! Do you happen to have a pic of the butt-cap where the tang is peened over? This knife is VERY tempting... :)

Joe: You are making some great knives, I like the honest transition zone, functional drop point, lack of a dropped edge and comfortable guard. I congratulate you!

Redsnake, here is the pic of the butt-cap. There is a small gap where I couldnt get the tang peened to cover it, there was a shoulder at the end of the tang, and squaring it up would have resulted in a shorter handle. It is cosmetic only.

Ed-- Thanks!! I should be in your area in a few weeks, and will call or email a few days beforehand for a visit.
