Hello, my friends!
New pix add
I've got this fresh out of the oven.
I designed this model for a group of friends who went on a fishing expedition to the Amazon rainforest.
Originally, I made it from stainless steel with micarta, but I liked the design so much that I made another one for myself, for my tackle, and also this one in 52100 (and that one last week in 420) to put to the test if you guys are interested.
I think 52100 with Brazilian Rosewood I can't go wrong, hehe.
I ran several tests with this batch of steel and ended up settling for a HT with austenitizing at 1550 and quenching at 1500. Two cicles of tempering, 1h each, at 400.
I didn't conduct a hardness test, but I believe the hardness reached somewhere between 58/60 HRC.
The domed pins gave a very refined look to the grip that looked beautiful with the contrasts of the jack (jack because the name of this wood in portuguese ir Jacarandá, so we nicknamed it Jack - Jack+arandá - Yes, I know, it wasn't that funny when I wrote it)
Handle: Brazilian Rosewood
OAL: 7 3/4"
Blade: 3 1/2"
Width: 32mm
Thickness: 3mm
Leather sheath
I'm asking 229 USD shipped. I use FedEx. It's fast and safe. PayPal or TransferWise.
For those who are wary of international deliveries, last week I sent two pieces to the US and they arrived in less than a week.
Thank you guys. It's always rewarding to bring pieces and hear your opinions.
