So this is a design I came up with after skinning coyotes all last winter with a normal caper style knife. I have the nose of the knife higher than the rest as you can see to allow you to put you pointer finger on it. This allows you to work the tip of the knife in close spots. I made the finger grove in the handle large than normal (1 1/4" wide) allowing the birdie finger to sit sideways easily.
