Nice knife for a great price.

Osage orange is also known as Bois d'Arc. From this French name, you might deduce that this wood was used for making bows. And there is Texas lore that says the Indians from west Texas who raided Mexican and later Texican settlements in central, east and south Texas would plant these trees at camping points on the trails they used. I have seen stands of Bois d'Arc trees in west Texas when there were few other trees around...

So this wood is a fitting material to use as knife scales!

I've had a few requests for osage lately! I had to go find some more on eBay as a matter of fact. I love it, and it's pretty easy to work with too.
