I have a couple more paring knives for you! This is one of my best selling designs, as it is so versatile in use. These work quite well in the kitchen as paring knives, but also as a good EDC knife, or even a short "bird and trout". The steel is high carbon 52100, often used in the production of ball bearings, but with an exacting (and updated) heat treatment to get the most out of it. This takes time, but the heat treatment is the soul of a knife! After normalizing and thermal cycling, the blade is held at a constant precise temperature for a set time, and then is quenched in oil, placed between aluminum plates to ensure straightness (we hope!), and then on to triple tempering. The final hardness on these babies is ~62-63HRC. The grind is full flat, taken to a "zero" edge and then backed off just a hair to establish a tiny "flat", then sharpened. For the sharpening gurus out there who might be interested, I used a Shapton Pro 1000 ceramic stone, followed by the Spyderco Fine ceramic stone, and the result amazed even my exacting standards....super super sharp! The first knife up has Padauk handle scales, which is a gorgeous red colored wood. The second knife has Eucaplytus scales, which has nice figuring and beautiful coloring. I have 3 of these knives in my possession, one is a paring knife and the other two serve as shop knives. They are super lightweight, thin, and sharp and a lot of fun to use! The following specs apply to both knives:
OAL: 7 1/2"
Blade: 3 1/8"
Handle: 4 3/8"
Thickness: 0.050"
Steel: 52100 62-63HRC
Edge: 26° inclusive (13° per side), 6 micron 0.005" prior to sharpening
Knife # 1 Padauk handle
Price is only $135 and includes a felt lined plastic edge protector as well as free shipping anywhere in the USA! If you would like a kydex sheath made for it, just add $25 to the sale price. Paypal preferred (samuraistuart@yahoo.com). Thanks for looking!

Knife # 2 Eucalpytus handle
Price is only $100 and includes a felt lined plastic edge protector and free shipping anywhere in the USA!! The price is a little lower on this knife as there is a flaw. While grinding, the blade took on an extremely extremely slight bend to the right. It is so unnoticeable you can't make it out on a photograph looking straight down at the spine, but it is there. So I'm letting this one go at a slightly reduced rate. Paypal preferred (samuraistuart@yahoo.com).
