Ball bearing steel. Some swear by it others like it some don't. I have made several blades out of it. It makes a very serviceable knife. I even made a competition knife and out of it and I took first place. It can be tricky to HT though. Tight tolerances needed to get optimum performance. There are many good steels out there. Check out the sticky at the top of this forum about good info.
Its one of the best for a using knife. 52100 is on the top of my steel list. And 1095 is next in my book. Have fun using it, you will love working with these two steels. God bless ---------:thumbup:
