And now for something entirely different (for me, at least). This knife has been a real labor of love for me. I made two of these blades and kept the first one, I have been testing it for a while now, and finally decided how I wanted to finish up #2. The blade is 52100, heat treated by Peter's to 61-62 HRC. The back of the blade is hollow, 36" radius sanded in by hand with a curved block. Heel to tip is 10.75", OAL is 16.5". Hand sharpened on waterstones up to 1K, with just a quick pass on the strop to knock off the burr. I left it there to preserve the 1200 grit hand sanded satin finish. With a few passes at 4 or 8k, and this already very sharp blade will be absolutely wicked. The handle is stabilized quilted maple, one of the last blocks from a slab I have been working on for a long time. The bolster is gaboon ebony, with copper and black G10 spacers. The saya is zebrawood, and the display stand is curly maple. Please reply in the thread or email with any questions. $550 Shipped. SOLD
