Hey guys, I'm usually a contributor but now I have a question. Well, the store I shop at bases all knife prices on MSRP. If you go on benchmades website and a knife has an MSRP of $127.33 the store will have the same price. They sell Victorinox, Benchmade, Spyderco, Kershaw, Buck, CRKT and Leatherman. I want a decent pocket knife, preferably non serrated and sturdy! I have $55.00 to spend though including tax. To give you an idea of the knives I like I love my Kershaw Blur, Benchmade Griptilian and CRKT M16-03. I want a knife that will hold up and can be a beater but still perform well. I'll use it in the woods, around the house and other random chores.

I just purchased a Kershaw Zing and I really like it. It flips great, it is pretty stout for a 3" blade and for $40 it is a great value.

Sounds like you need to find a different store. :D

Seriously though, look around online, you will find MUCH better pricing than MSRP. Happy hunting!

I've ordered a bunch of knives from this site, they have great prices, deliver quickly, and took great care of me when I wanted to exchange a knife because I ordered the wrong one.

Their prices, plus shipping, will be way cheaper than MSRP.

Here's what I'd buy:

2.5" blade http://www.newgraham.com/detail.aspx?ID=3811
4" blade http://www.newgraham.com/detail.aspx?ID=4894

The second one, the Endura IV, is a fantastic knife, and has a better feel than any other in its price range because it has a skeletonized steel liner inside of the plastic handle. It makes the knife feel very sturdy, because it is very sturdy. Spyderco has a lifetime warranty and uses fantastic steel.

If you prefer not to order online, go to your local Walmart and check out a Buck 110 or a Spyderco Native.

Two Buck 110s at Wallymart, or as mentioned above a Spydie native for about $40.00 at the same place.

There is almost no excuse to ever pay MSRP. Spend a little time shopping around. Seriously.

I have a Buck 110 :-). I don't have a credit card, so i'm limited :-\. But I like the store, its local and i support em. I was thinking some type of spyderco or victorinox. A lot of the spydies i see have serrations.

Just last week, I got a Native from the local Walmartfor about $40. Some stores still have them and it would be difficult to find a better deal. Likewise since the Buck 110 sold for $25 when I was a kid, I find it amazing that wally world sells them for $26.99 today.

Well, since you insist on paying full MSRP, then do consider the Spyderco Tenacious at $54.95 MSRP. I have only read positive comments about it from users, very often the commentary goes like "it is easily worth the double of the $30 I paid", so you're on to a good buy there!
I have the Tenacious as well, and I do think it's really good.
Everybody should have a Buck 110 in their collection, but I would rather first choose the Tenacious as an allround edc.

I think the Vantage series will be some of the hottest knives for 2009:
This is the ask price at KnifeCenter for the Vantage Pro detailed below: You Pay: $47.95
I've got this on order and can't wait to get it (and the Avid too)

I thinks this is an exceptional value and its made right here in the U.S.A.

I can't think of any of the popular knife manufactures offering you this much knife for this price...

Having just spent $170 yesterday on a 110 AG from Cabela's, I could have lived without reading that.
