55 mini hunter thread?

Nifty little knives, good EDC size. Comparison shot I took several years ago - you can really tell that half size is a lot smaller! This one, bought out of the Buck display at a gunshop, has varying size handle rivets. OH

Where are you guys getting the custom 55's? They look great. I'm a big fan of the 503, and wanted to get a 55, but seeing the custom ones makes me want one of those over the standard model. Sources?

i have a question about 55 folders, when you look at a buck catalog you can see a 55 with idaho stamp and to me it seems to have a thicker handle than any others i’ve seen ( i have three of them) and the nail nick seems to be more horizontal than others . the 55 pictured in catalogs should be an early 2005 ? so do someone can verify that theory and so add pictures side by side 55 to se differences ? i think that custom versions are thicker too but never seen one either.

that’s pictures found in google of the ones that’s seems thicker by my eyes... with horizontal nick

Look at the photos in this thread. There are already a few 2005 Idaho tang stamp 55s with non-Idaho stamped knives. None of them have nail nicks that look like the image with horizontal nicks.

yes i’ve seen but asked just in case someone have seen or own something like that.

I think it is the Buck choice for the forum knife and that I want more stainless steel that these 55s have my interest.

It would be nice to find one new that is not the generic version I can get at my local Cabelas.

But that is a starting point!

Bought one earlier this year and promptly lost it within a week or two-----doubt I'll replace it, too small and no clip----doesn't match my taste or uses-----as shown by its disappearance, lost track of it and haven't seen it since-----I think I might have left in a jeans pocket and lost it in the wash to which somebody got a nice little present using the washer next--but I'm not sure what really happened.

Howdy y'all, can anyone tell me about the 2005 55 with the Idaho cut out of the blade? Like how many were made, what was the original selling price and what kind of value do they have now, and of course all that good info y'all have.
