The ebay listing I posted was 550 and has 7 internal strands (if I remember correctly). The seller said it was the real deal and it looks the part to my eyes...

That Omaha Army Navy Surplus link you posted has 9-strand. Interesting. It doesn't mention the strength, but the enlarged picture definitely looks like the real stuff.

In any case, I bought a 100 yard spool of OD green 550 paracord awhile ago from Brigade Quartermasters for $20, and it's the real stuff. I also bought a 100 foot section of black 550 cord about a month ago from them to replace my frayed boot laces.
