Wow, this stuff probably has 1001 uses. I just got 100 feet of cord on Tuesday and already, I've replaced the cheesy looking leather wrap on the handles of my sai, did a hangman's knot/fob thing for one of my knives, tied a piece around the body of my SureFire 6P which lets me hold it like one of their combat lights (I don't even own a handgun, but it's fun to do:D ), and I plan to wrap my Camillus Arc Lite when it comes. The cord is definitely some neat stuff that's pretty cheap to get and would probably have a lot of uses for camping and whatnot.:)

I keep about six feet of it on my keychain in a hangman's noose tied with the cord initially folded once (so it's more compact). Very useful, but my keychain's starting to get as big as a gas station restroom keychain.

You should change your shoe/boot laces to the paracord too. It lasts and looks better than most normal shoelaces, and the core can be pulled out if you're ever really desperate for something like fishing line or thread.

Here's a picture of my wrapped Arclite:

That's exactly how I plan to wrap my ArcLite when it comes. If you remember, how long were the two pieces of cord you used to wrap the handle? Also, how thick is the whole wrap? Thanks.

Hi, I really can't remember exactly what length I used. I think that it was somewhere around 10 feet.

I didn't wrap exactly like the Strider way. I used one piece of paracord for the whole thing, so the initial flat wrap layer still has the inner strands in it. This makes the wrap just a little bit thicker than it would be if you used two pieces and had a flat inner layer. It fits my small hands perfectly, so I bet this would be the way to go for most people. At the widest point the paracord is ~9mm from the handle.

I didn't use any superglue like the Strider guys do, because I prefer to secure things with a knot at the pommel. Just make sure it's nice and tight, and things won't start to unwrap.

I left the handle hole closest to the tip unwrapped, because then it will still fit in the sheath.

Has anyone ever tried to use 550 cord to make a cheek rest for a rifle? Just got my Savage 10FP and was thinking that this may be a cool idea. Comments?
