I found the instructions on this a while back and finally got around to trying one out tonight. Once complete you should have approx. 10' of 550 cord on your wrist for emergencies. I just wanted to see if I could make a half way decent one. I made this one for my wife on my first try. She was happy and let me go chop things. :D I am going to try this method for a key chain and perhaps a lanyard. Anyway, I like to try new things, especially survival/preparedness type stuff, and thought some of you might also. If you make one post pics if you have time.

It came out nice. I'll give it a shot when I have some spare time.

Click on the big red words "Survival Bracelet" in the first post. It should take you to a pdf I used. Once you get the first part down it is super easy because you just keep repeating it until finished.

Hahah, thanks. I posted when there wasn't a working link, but now I'm sure nobody will miss it.

Nope.

Took me a while too.

when i click on the link, its a site that you have to join to download?????? Is that right?????

When you click on the link you should go to a megaupload page. Towards the top right hand side you should see the word Download, some letters/numbers next to an empty box. All you should have to do is enter those letters exactly the way you see it and click on Download. I think.:o

... You can DL for free and no signup required... simply enter the 3 letters in the box and click the box that says [Download] to the right. You'll be taken to another page that says [Premium member] and to the right of that is a timer (45 seconds)... when the counter reaches zero, it'll say --->[Free Download]. click Free Download. when the little box pops up with Open, Save or Cancel, click Save. Boom, ya got it. :)

You will get a popup ad, usually to the left side. Just close it and continue with the instructions above.

Thanks for the link

I like to try new stuff too and I have a heap of parachord to do it with.

Tyrkon--I've made some with little plastic buckles I found on that other site we never mention, and by stripping the core from the 550 they work well for a dainty wrist. Good job, man! :)

Great idea. I want to make one for each of my little ones. Thanks. :)

Fresh work, Ty. A few months back I had Ken Cardwell (www.knivesandlanyards.com) make a cobra-stitch watchband for my Citizen, and he did a fantastic job. I have trouble with metal bands because something in them makes the skin on my wrist break out, but the paracord bracelet works perfectly for me. Actually, Ken has made all of my lanyards/fobs, including the ones on my knives in the pictures I posted the other day. He's fantastic with cord, and just a great guy all around.

I made a mistake on my last order and mentioned it AFTER he'd sent my lanyards, and he just made some new ones to my specs and sent them gratis. He's a class act.

I couldn't sleep last night so I gave it a shot. I used whatever length paracord I had lying around (6-7 ft.) so it came out short, but I got the technique down.
