I have two 560's , the first one is stamped 560n , and fits nice and snug in the nylon sheath which has a tag on the back that says 560

now the second one has a 110T stamped blade, which i know they used when
they ran out of 560 stamped blades, the knife is loose and sloppy in the nylon sheath, the sheath is way to big and the back of the sheath has a tag that says 446, is this the correct nylon sheath? or did I get the wrong sheath?

Thanks

Tom:

The nylon sheath tagged "560" is indeed tighter fitting. In 1993, the 560 was re-designed, and sported a beveled edge and a slimmer profile than years prior. 1992 was the last year of the stepped edge 560. The pre-1993 560s came with the velcro flap sheaths with BUCK embroidered down the front. These sheaths were un-padded silver/gray nylon. The black padded nylon sheaths came with the newly designed beveled edge 560s. These had BUCK embroidered down the front in red; few had the embroidered letters in gray. These sheaths sport the "560" tag on the back. These sheaths first debuted in 1992 with the introduction of the black 560 in 1992. Unlike the gray 560s that had the beveled edge debut in 1993, the black 560 only came with a beveled edge frame, and not a stepped frame.

The padded nylon sheaths that sport a "426" tag on the back are often found with 560s. In essence, all black 560s, all post 1992 gray 560s, and all titanium crystal(yellowish/gold anodized) 560s should have a black padded nylon sheath with a "560" tag on the back.

Thanks for all the GREAT detailed info, I for sure got the wrong sheath as mine is marked 446, so i'll ask the guy i got it from if he mixed up the sheaths and hopefully get the right sheath.

indead buck 110 always has some great information!!!
it is knowh tha ton some occasons of shortage a 426 sheath did get in the box with 560... the only diff being the tag on the back and the attention of the employee putting it in the box...
by the way the 560 is a
great
user for edc!

Tom:

The 426 sheath will "work," but the 446 sheath will be too large. The 446 was known as the "Goliath." The 446 has a larger footprint than a standard production 110. The beveled edge 560s are slimmer than a standard production 110. Your knife must be swimming in that sheath.

...Yeah Tom...Too big of a sheath fer that dinky 560...Send 'er my way if that guy ain't got a replacement...I think I'm gonna have a "nak'd" "Goliath" runnin' around here soon... :p
