What Is The Reason For Putting Your Wood In A Pressure Pot And Adding Air After Putting It In A Vacuum

my understanding is that since the piece is fully submerged in liquid, the vacuum pulls all of the air out of the material (bubbles) when the bubbles stop you pressurize the chamber "forcing" the stabilizer into the material.

Obviously this doesn't work if the material is not submerged
