I just tried the screwdriver tip on my Vic Rambler on my eyeglasses. It is too large for the screws.
Tip to keep eyeglass screws from getting loose: After tightening them, use a toothpick to put a drop of boiled linseed oil on the screw head. It will cover the head and when it hardens won't let the screw back out. I think of it as primitive Loc-Tite.
Depends on the eyeglasses. I have a couple pair that'll accept the 58mm SAK screwdriver. Another pair uses much smaller screws, which I think is more typical. My daughter's glasses use teeny Phillips screws, looks like #000.
I use a honing stone to carefully work down the size of my screwdriver blade so it fits my glasses.
If you use Lock Tite on the screws, apply carefully... don't get it in the spring loaded hinges (Tip from the Ric Lee school of glued and stuck spring hinges).
I use Elmer's School glue on the screw or screw hole in my glasses. It is a lot cheaper than thread lock & if done properly the screws will remain locked forever unless soaked in water.
yeah, it is a shame that the file tip isnt put to better use.
It does fit phillips though which is good, but is redundant on my manager which has an excellent phillips tip on the cap lifter which seems to fit many phillips sizes.
I would prefer either a mini flat or large flat on the file in place of what is there.
