5th Annual Great NW Mischief...!!

Yup; from the SwampRat Forum:
So shall go this years Mischief.
And... You, yes you are invited. Really.
12August - 15August or any time in between.

Directions:
The Great NW Rat Mischief will again be above the gravel pit off the 6701 Rd.
45* 56.351 N, 121* 51.967 W, WGS 84

From SR 14 (approx Milepost 47) follow Wind River Hwy (30 Rd) north and continue north through Carson.

Right before Milepost 6 on the Wind River Hwy, you will see a sign directing you to "Panther Creek." Take a right onto this road and then an immediate left onto Panther Creek Road (65 Rd).

Follow the 65 road, through “4 Corners” at about Milepost 10. Stay on the 65 Rd north, until Milepost 12, where the pavement ends and the 67 Rd splits off to the left (west). Follow the 67 Rd about a mile and turn right on the 6701 Rd. Less than a mile up the 6701, a gravel pit will be on the left, as you go past it, and up around a corner to the left is a spur road to the left. This is a fairly rough road that will quickly take you to where the NW Mischief will be based.

From the north, take Hwy 12 either east off I-5, or west out of Yakima, to Randle.

From Randle, dump down the 25 Rd., past Mount St. Helens, to the 90 Rd.
Take a left on the 90 Rd. (east), to Curly Creek Rd. (I think its the 51 or 52 Rd.),
Take that right hand turn, and go up the hill to the 30 Rd. (Wind River Hwy).
Go north (left) on the 30 Rd. to Rush Creek Rd. (6507 Rd.) on the right.
Follow the 6507 Rd. up to Panther Creek Rd. (65 Rd.), take a right (south) and go about 6 miles to the 67 Rd.

Other than food and drink, I'd recommend lawn chairs, and a helmet or hardhat for the cave (& lots of lights)…

Ham radio: 146.58
FRS: Channel 4
No cell service
No water (bring plenty)
Nearest bathroom about 8 miles
No electricity
Not even adult supervision...

Think there's a thread about this somewhere around here...

Could very well be a Hoot!!!

Is this road driveable with a normal sedan?

While a tad rough, the 67 and 6701 roads are sedan driveable. You will need to park at the bottom of the gravel pit, instead of driving all the way up to the Mischief Henge site. Not too much of a walk though... :

C'mon folks; this will be, well, uhm, interesting :o  :D

Looks like I'll be able to make it for at least part of the time. I'll bring the griz/wolf hybrids. Oh, and steel. :)

I might be able to make this one! Hopefully my car will be able to make it too :D

Ok so our SAR team will be in the Skamania County Fair Parade, which I think starts at 11 am. That may mean I'll be a bit later than Noon at the EOC as planned; but I will be there!

Getting closer; the terror builds...!!

So, how does this work? How early are folks showing up and where? Is there tent space? Any info appreciated.

Lots of space to set up a tent. This is woods, NOT a campground, though. Not sure when everybody is headed up yet, but I'm sure there will be enough earlybirds by Thursday afternoon to properly welcome you. See if you can have a bear hanging in camp by the time I get ther, 'kay? :D

We'll head up Friday morning then. We'll see about the bare.......... oops, I mean bear.;):D

Since this is an annual event and I just found out about it, I'll definitely need to make plans to attend next year.

Enjoy!

Jay

As usual, my luck sucks. I cannot plan on going to this one year without something happening. Now in multiples. Transmission is shot, and medical practitioners have just made me sick in more ways than one. I am yet again bailing at the last minute. Have fun folks.

I might be able to get out for a night. River-8, can you send me an email so I can see how to best find you guys if I dont get out on Thursday?

Thanks,
Mike
