Welcome M. Taylor. That villager BAS was a good snag, you're going to love it. Do yourself a favor though since that's your first khuk (besides reading the safety thread), be careful as to who all is around the first time you go chopping that blade into a hunk of wood. Why? Because you're going to be giggling like a little girl and cussin' like a sailor all in the same breath. How do I know? How do you think? ;)

Sarge

Sarge, Thanks for the welcome; much appreciated. I will definitely read the safety post; I'm very safety conscious when working with sharp objects. I make sure everyone is clear before I practice with my sword, so you bet I'll make sure I keep myself, and others, out of harm's way.

Thanks to everyone here for some very good information. I learned a lot using the search engine and just poking around. My main area of interest is in European swords (I spend a fair bit of time on myAromoury.com), but I've wanted to get a Khukuri for quite some time. This site gave me what I needed to make my final decision.

Another Pen Knife joins the stable.

Just got word from my daughter that there's a box waiting for me. This should be my BAS.

Oh my!  The BAS is great! Looks very nice, feels very nice as well. A clean, no-nonsense working knife. I'm very happy with my purchase; guess that was hard to figure out, huh? I'd say more and post pictures, but it is a Christmas present, so my wife is only alowing me limited visitation rights until then. ;) I can hardly wait for the sirupati to arrive.

Thanks again, Yangdu.
