I just added some more new stabilized blocks and pre-cut scales to our web store.
Maple, Redwood & Sycamore. The scales are a little thicker than normal for sculpted handles.
These blocks and scales were professionally stabilized by K&G so you know they were done right.
Everything in the store comes with a No Questions Asked, Money Back Guarantee.
Free US shipping - International Shipping is a Flat Rate of $20 or Free if your order is over $100.

Just click on the photo to go to the Stabilized Blocks or Stabilized Scales section of the store.
If you see a block you like but need scales, just make a note during check out and I can cut scales for you at no additional charge.

After seeing the fine blocks you posted here, I finally gave in and ordered one. Hopefully I can make something nice with it. Any tips on finishing stabilized burls? After sanding, do I just buff till shiny, or go with a more traditional wood finish like tung oil / polyurethane?

Thank You.
My way of finishing is different than a lot of the knifemakers, but it is easy and always gets good results.
After sanding has been completed I like to apply a light coat of Danish Oil.
Rub it in with your fingertip and after 10 or 15 minutes wipe off thoroughly with a dry cloth.
Repeat until you like how it looks. This brightens the colors and gives a bit more depth to the figure.
Next use paste wax for wood and apply like you are polishing your shoes.
Hand buff with a soft cloth.
