What do you make YOUR mom for Christmas? A knife ofcourse. :) This is made from 3/32" CPM-440V, OAL is 6 5/8", handle is 1/8" maroon linen Micarta, and SS pins. I'll caution mom that she needs to be careful with her FIRST SHARP KNIFE.:D

Great lookin' paring knife! Gee, I was going to get my mom a paring knife, but it won't compare to this one.

I really like that micarta.

I use my Bose desk knife in the kitchen every now and then as a paring knife.

A great Gift! I'm sure she will like it . I made my wife one years back and couldn't get her to use it as she was afraid she would mess it up. I finally started using it myself and she got the message that she couldn't hurt it.
The one gift that she really liked was I made her a Minature with Mother of Pearl handles an Sterling Silver fittings and put a chain loop on it and put it on a Sterling Silver Chain. She has been wearing it for over 20 years now.
Again a very nice knife and a Great Gift very thoughtfull.

Thanks for the comments folks. Merry Christmas!

I used the maroon so that it would stand out among everything else in the knife drawer, if that's where she puts it, and it looks "kitchenie". I was toying with the idea of making a fancy little wood block to store it while not being used. And Mike...this is the small T.Bose Desk Knife pattern, but you knew that didn't you :p

Thats really great! I'd like a whole set of those but I'd have to keep em away from the wife or they'd be dulled up real fast.

Seriously that is a super user right there. I am betting it will fast become a favorite in the kitchen. I know some don't much care for that shape in the food prep jobs but I rather like them personally. I use my own folder in that blade shape for that kind of stuff all the time.

Nice handle and great contouring job to feather the edges too. I like your work. Top notch!

You stole my idea! And did it at least ten times better than I was going to!

So, going to make copies for sale? :p

Yep..I would like one of these for myself, too. Give us a heads up if more like this one are coming up.
