Good catch! This is the slip joint pattern that this fixed blade version is patterned after. It is a very old English teardrop pattern.

Here is the Tony Bose desk knife that I use in the kitchen on occasion. I think it's a little bigger than Kerry's.

With sheath by Paul Long. Kerry makes great sheaths for this pattern as well. Paul made the back flat in case I wanted to put it in my back pocket, and to sit flat on a desk.
