If you don't mind me asking... Is Alabama Damascus stainless or what kind of maintenance needs does it have to keep it in top condition? Kitchen oils like my cast iron, but without the heat?

Alabama Damascus is a mix of 52100, 5160 and 15N20 so it will require a little maintenance like any carbon steel knife. I hand wash and dry then lightly coat with oil before putting it back into the block. As you said like a cast iron without the heat will work just fine! Thanks!
