Research and field tests were spent on design and weight considerations, making the Rivals total weight approximately 9 ounces. The blade is made from 440C all-weather stainless steel and comes with various types of finishes, including Cerakote. Scales are a grenade pattern made from G10 allowing for a firm grip under the most adverse conditions, ergonomically designed for optimal muscle memory retention. The Kydex locking sheath is MOLLE compatible and ambidextrous which allows the sheath to be attached in many different positions on kits, vests, backpacks and belts. The mounting plate on the sheath also allows the sheath to be worn in an inverted position.
