Hi all,

I've got a fun little knife for sale here today. It is neither a Santoku nor a Nakiri, it's a Snarkito? Comment below if you know what it should be called.

The blade has been forged by hand, it has a distal taper and is ground thin. :) Hope you like it!

Steel: white #2 with 22-layer 'Suminigashi' cladding (not stainless)
HRC: around 62

OAL: 11"
Blade length: 6"
Thickness at the heel: about 2.2mm
height at the heel: 47mm

The handle materials are: Chacate Preto and Purple heart (The knife is only just finished so the Purple heart hasn't had a chance to turn proper purple yet, it'll happen in the next couple of days.)

I can make a leather saya if requested for an additional $45 (I got some new leather dyes with which I should be able to mix a purple color to suit the wood. Brown could be nice too I suppose, to match the bolster.)

Price: $230 + $15 shipping Sold

PayPal only please to: hazenbergknives@gmail.com

Happy New Year and tanks for looking!!

Jelle

Beautiful knife! I always like looking at your blades. The point of this one has some muk-ish qualities. Out of curiosity, ever make 270 length stuff?

Whatever you call it, looks pretty sweet!

I think you could get at with calling it either a nakiri or a santoku... whichever you felt like on any particular day!

Thanks Mark! I think when I first drew the design a couple of week ago, it had a flatter edge profile like a nakiri. But when I made the final life-size drawing it ended up having more belly like a Santoku.
