Hi everyone, I have a new blade today for your consideration!

This one is an absolute laser! It is one of my finest grinds yet, and features a distal taper that goes from 7/64" at the spine to a wicked 2/64" at the top of the k-tip. This knife will perform great with any slicing task and will just glide easily through food. The spine and choil have both been rounded for a comfortable pinch grip. The steel is 16x16 layers of laddered W's made from 1095 and 15n20. The finish is very durable, the bright layers are polished to a high finish and the dark layers a saturated black for some very striking contrast. It's been etched just enough to have a slight texture to the pattern and the pattern has some nice chatoyance when it moves through the light. The handle is my own modernized octagonal wa design and features stabilized curly acacia with an african blackwood bolster and a stabilized golden amboyna burl spacer, and has been buffed to a high finish. The blade has been taken up to a .5 micron edge and is razor sharp and ready to work! Now for some pictures:

I'm asking SOLD and that includes shipping in the US. If you live outside the US just let me know and I will do my best to find a shipping option that works best for you :)
I also make saya and can do one for this blade for extra if you are interested, just let me know!
If you have any questions about this one don't hesitate to reach out to my email YozakuraForge@gmail.com or leave a comment! As always I am open to constructive criticism and would like to know how you all think I did on this one and what you would like to see next, so let me know what you think in the comments below :)

Thanks for looking!

Thank you!! Looking forward to hearing from you, hope you have a good time on your vacation too :)

This one has been received...I have to say the pictures don't do it justice - its a beautiful knife!
Grant's interpretation of a traditional Japanese handle is extremely comfortable.

It definitely CUTS!!!

My goodness, WOW! If I bought one for my wife, I would only let her cut with the spine side (she's rough on kitchen knives).

I mean I don’t wanna be a pedantic prick but that’s definitely a bunka. Not a gyuto. It’s a k-tip gyuto just like a shibata battleship. It’s a known and established knife shape.

Hi K Kilgoretrouts , welcome to bladeforums! I understand where you are coming from. The distinction between a k-tip gyuto and bunka is often very small. I think that I could have reasonably described this blade as a bunka. However, I will have to respectfully disagree, as I think this blade is better represented as a k-tip gyuto. A not insignificant amount of effort was put into deciding the label that would be most appropriate. If you would like me to cite my reasons for choosing the label I did, I would be more than happy to! Either way, I hope you have a good rest of your day and enjoy your time on BF :)
