Been a little buzz on this knife as of late, but wanted to let everyone know due to some complications, the project has been scrapped and we will not be producing this combination.

Sorry for getting everyone all excited, and thanks for the understanding.

Oh God, somebody better send the whaaambulance for me. Oh well, more money to spend on a Shallot and JYD II SG2.:)

Thanks for the update and thanks for giving it a try. I was already planning the tests that I wanted to try.

Are there any interesting lessons learned from the project that you could share with us?

Likewise. Can you give us any further info on this, Thomas? Steelhead curiosity, you know.

Too bad, I was looking forward to it, it was even going to be my favorite Leek color combination.

Sorry to hear about it Thomas but I understand completely.

This is to be expected when you push the envelope. Kershaw has been on the cutting edge leading the pack for a while now and its fortunate you have managed to pull off what you already have in the way of specialty projects for us with the Ti ZDP Leek, mini Cyclone, and the SG2 Blur, Damascus Leek and others. Its been a great run and when a project fails to come to fruition all you can do is learn from it. Honestly, its probably best to focus on the excitement of the past projects that succeeded and remember that energy as well as the great feelings of excitement during those runs.

For what its worth, I for one truly appreciate the effort here and hope this will not sour you or your team on creating new goodies for us knife enthusiasts that love whats come our way from Kershaw already and I thank you guys working hard over at Kai/Kershaw.

Keep up the good work.

Great post STR.

Wow I'm pretty disappointed I was really looking forward to this knife! I've been holding out on buying a Leek, because I've been waiting for this one.

Well thanks for informing us of the situation Thomas. BTW, can you go into anymore detail as to why the project was canceled? Where did the complications come from? Will we see this steel in use in any other knives in the furute?

dang! that blade would have been sweet on the polished G10, better than the random leek blade.....plus the S30V WOULD HAVE LOOKED GREAT ON THE o.d. green handle!

Hear that? That's the sound of my heart breaking. :(
Oh well, thanks for giving it a shot. I'm sure there will
be more great things to come. Thanks for letting us
know. Look forward to more great knives from you guys
at Kershaw.

On the bright side (for my wallet), that is one less knife that I absolutely HAVE to buy. :)

Big deal...That would have just been one more nice Kershaw knife that I couldn't afford to buy.:D.:D.

Nuts! I was really looking forward to this project. But as said before, life goes on, and there are a lot of other nice projects on the horizon.
