October 21 2018 Campbellclanman Campbellclanman announced the winners of his Epic GAW that @supratentorial had also donated a NIT Northfield Hemlock Green Bone 661317 Calf Roper as a prize that I won.
I fell in love with this knife IMO the finest stockman I have ever owned and then>>>>>>GONE<<<<<< lost, to be seen no more. To add insult to injury it was riding in a GEC sheath that had been gifted me by @mrknife. Well days turned into weeks a couple of months passed and I found it's twin at a GEC dealer and snatched it up. Well you guessed it>>>>>>GONE<<<<<<ARGHHHHH :eek:
Fast forward I have found another but should I or should I not or have I BEEN JINXED BY THE 66 PATTERN.
What do you guys think of the 82 Dixie Stockman it's quite a bit larger than the 66. Do any of you have comparison pictures of the two maybe side by side, I'm usually not superstitious but I'm a bit gun shy this time. I've got several different medium sized stockman but they just ain't the same.

That sucks, sorry to hear about all the bad luck!  They say the third time's the charm though. Perhaps get one in a different handle material or something. Sadly I can't give you a comparison with a 82 as I don't have one. They seem nice though, especially the blades. What I can give you is perhaps a little hope. I lost a 66 slim that was gifted to me by Will Power and it took more than a year before I found it again. It was in my car seat. I still got a 66 stockman to replace it while it was "missing in action". Haven't lost that one. Who knows, yours might turn up again sometime in the future when you will be least expecting it. I sure hope it does! :)

Before I got to the end of your post, I thought “he should get an 82”.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a 66 in the heard right now. I can tell you that while the 82 is significantly larger, it’s also very pocketable due to the overall shape and low riding blades.

Oh Man!!!!
Randy thats sucks- dont give up on the 66 frame brother- one of THE coolest knives that GEC has produced, I just bought a Bullwinkle that I had never got around to grabbing.
One of my most favourite Knives is Charlies rendidtion.
Edit.....
Still thinking about this Randy...they HAVE to be somewhere- I would near disect the Lounge Chairs and recliners, under the actual chairs?- remember I found my TC that had been lost for a few years?- in a Pocket of a Jacket that had been stashed away in the Spare room Wardrobe!!!!
Washing Machine gusset is another place where Pauls Northfield 77 Barlow that he gifted me ( now called washing machine Barlow ) was siting for over a week, get down and dirty in the Car randy- right under that seat- push your fingers right into that seat crevice - also look in the tracks of the seat where it slides back and ford.
In the boot of your car in your pockets of your pants in your wardrobe / cupboards - you cant have lost two and one of them not be somewhere close!

Same thing happened to me with the 35. I wanted so bad to love it, but bad luck kept following them to me. Strange. Glad I’m not crazy.. well, maybe just a little.:oops:o_O

Been looking at the 66 for a while myself. Nice knife.

Randy, that sounds like a run of bad luck. I really like the size of my 66 and wish I would’ve been around when they came out because I’m sure I would’ve picked up a few more of them. I once had to turn my recliner upside down and shake the daylights out of it to get a knife back. I knew it was there because I heard it hit something but when it came to rest it was in a place I couldn’t feel. Hope one or both turn up!!

I've never handled or owned a 66.

I do have some missing knives (a non traditional folder I put in a "safe place" before leaving the house to go beach camping...I took several traditional patterns I thought would be less impacted by all the sand and grit.....).

Thst was two years ago. I've never found the "Safe place" I put it. I've lost many traditional patterns temporarily, but they are found.

I've lost customs for a while, but found them again as well.

You can't bother to care for them enough to keep track of them, so better just stick to rough riders or those horrid green snap off utility knives.

Seriously. Not like I care about your money or lost knives (poor fellas, carbon steel doesn't take abandonment well), but doesn't this seem wasteful to you?

The 82 is a satisfactory pattern. I enjoy it so far, tho its not quite as svelt as the OT61 as I thought it would be. Not an issue, tho, still plenty slim.

So yea, an 82 will be a splendid knife for you to obsess over for a week, then lose over the back of the couch. Or wherever. It is larger than the 66 by a bolster and then some, but not enough to make it any easier to find once you lose interest in it.

It'd be nice if you took your sarcasm somewhere else. It's called trolling and it's not appreciated here.

Hope you never loose a knife but if you do I hope it is a Rough Rider so not much money is lost since you evidently don't have the money to replace an expensive knife. My knife preferences and spending shouldn't concern you, the word is svelte not svelt and oh yea you're an idiot thanks for posting.
